Scents of Wood, a fragrance company launched in the United States and Canada in September 2020, is introducing the world’s first fragrance subscription available solely through the purchase of a non-fungible token (NFT).
The company has been recognized as “Fragrance Extraordinaire of the Year” by the Fragrance Foundation after only six months of operation for its innovative business plan, which includes selling gender-neutral scents via subscriptions and examining woody notes in all their variety.
Scents of Wood’s current ambition is to use its USP and combine it with the power of emerging blockchain technologies to link two groups that appear to have little in common: the NFT community and the fragrance community.
With the release of the NFTs, holders will actively engage in the company’s manufacturing process. For instance, customers will be asked to choose the perfumer they would want to see create the upcoming fragrance and presumably choose the scent they want to get. NFTs will also offer further utility, such as access to visit Scents of Wood workshops, conversations with the founders, and access to both NFT and fragrance conferences.
2,222 NFTs will be released on September 22nd at 2:22PM EST. Each scent is valued at $250, while the token is priced at $480.
