KEY POINTS
Ethereum has reclaimed its top spot in daily non-fungible token (NFT) sales, outpacing its competitor Bitcoin.
According to data from CryptoSlam, Ethereum-based NFTs have raked in $7.8 million in sales within the past 24 hours, surpassing Bitcoin’s $7.2 million.
Leading the pack in Ethereum NFT sales over the past day is Azuki #5869, fetching a hefty $211,900. Additionally, CryptoPunks #9149, #628, and #7735 have each commanded prices exceeding $100,000. Following closely behind are BAYC #9949 and #3035, each selling for around $50,000.
Throughout April, Ethereum NFT sales have totaled $187 million, a significant decrease from March’s $489 million. Notable sales in March, such as CryptoPunks #7804 and #3100, which each sold for over $16 million, drove much of that month’s activity.
While Bitcoin NFTs still lead in sales volume over the past seven and 30 days, Ethereum maintains dominance in all-time sales, with a total volume surpassing $43 billion. It’s worth noting that Bitcoin Ordinals were introduced in January 2023, potentially influencing this discrepancy.
These recent results signify another uptick in Ethereum NFT activity, reminiscent of the surge observed in the second week of February, when sales increased by nearly 97% in a week. Collections like Pandora, Nobody, and Pudgy Penguins spearheaded this surge.
