Manchester City launched a series of non-fungible token (NFT) football shirts under a new Web3 campaign called the “Unseen City Shirts.”
Global fans can mint these NFT shirts on OKX NFT marketplace and redeem them for exclusive prizes — ranging from a physical version of the newly re-designed shirts to Manchester City match tickets, OKX revealed in a statement.
Crypto exchange OKX, which is the Sleeve Sponsor of Manchester City, unveiled two digital collectibles — The Roses and The Bees — to mark the launch of Unseen City Shirts today. The campaign is open for 72 hours until April 25.
Beginning April 26, every minted collectible will be randomly assigned one of three rarity levels: Classic, Rare, or Ultra Rare. Each rarity tier will unlock distinct prizes for holders to get access to.
The second round of the Unseen City Shirts campaign with new designs and more prizes will begin on April 29.
Manchester City remains committed to exploring new ways to engage with its tech-savvy fanbase. Leveraging Web3 technologies is part of that pursuit, its chief marketing and fan experience officer Nuria Tarré said in the statement.
In October 2023, Manchester City launched the “Same City, Same Passion” NFT collection in association with the digital art movement Power of Women to mark the 2023-24 Women’s Super League season. The NFT artwork was available for minting for 0.03 ETH, about $50 at that time.

Designed by Greenwood and NFT designer Nas, the collection underscored three key attributes for success in sports — Adaptability, Calm & Patience, and Commitment & Passion.
