Starbucks’ NFT program Odyssey continues with the release of “The Siren Collection.”
The Stamps collection includes 2,000 NFTs depicting the brand’s iconic siren.
Based on the Polygon blockchain, the NFTs — which went on sale March 9, 12 pm PST — were exclusively available to Starbucks Odyssey members for $100 apiece, with each member able to acquire up to two collectibles.
The sale was over in 20 minutes, and secondary sales on Nifty Gateway skyrocketed. The current floor price is $379 (at the time of writing), a 279% increase over the initial price.
Stamp holders can now receive 1,500 additional points that can be used throughout 2023 as part of the Starbucks Odyssey experience — ending December 31st, 2023 — and redeemed for IRL prizes such as coffee products or access to exclusive events.
A percentage of the earnings generated by the sale of the NFT stamps will be donated to causes relevant to Starbucks partners and Starbucks Rewards members.
After launching its NFT program in May of last year — which Starbucks defines as “an extension of Starbucks Rewards powered by Web3 technology” — the company has quickly gained popularity in the community.
The release of this inaugural collection appears to be only the first step in the journey Starbucks has planned for its community; an experience that will enable customers to explore the brand’s legacy and stories, and unlock new experiences.
