Puma is collaborating with Yuga Labs’ acquired Web3 brand 10KTF to release a limited-edition collection of non-fungible token (NFT) sneakers.
10KTF, which debuted on September 17, 2021, is a virtual city online shop managed by Wagmi-san, a fictional world-famous artisan; it was acquired by Yuga Labs in 2022.
Puma will bring its Slipstream shoe model to Web3 as part of the collaboration, through the release of custom NFT and physical sneakers.
The series, named “Grailed PUMA Slipstream,” consists of 2,000 pairs of sneakers designed in collaboration with artist Alexander John.
Each pair of sneakers boasts unique colors and an NFT artwork-themed shoe tongue, including BAYC or Super Puma, and will be available in both physical and NFT versions.
Puma Nitro NFT holders and 10KTF community members will have access to the “Grailed PUMA Slipstream” NFT collection beginning April 27, 2023.
This project follows Puma’s recent foray into the NFT industry, which involved the release of a new NFT collection named “Super Puma” to commemorate the company’s 75th anniversary. Puma will airdrop 2,000 unreleased Super Puma NFTs to those who redeem the Grailed PUMA Slipstream Mint Passes.
Puma has also been active in the metaverse; in September 2022, in celebration of its FUTROGRADE presentation at New York Fashion Week, Puma debuted its first metaverse experience, “Black Station.”
