1. Givenchy Parfums Launches NFT to Support the LGBTQIA+ Cause
As part of Pride Month this year, Givenchy Parfums is launching an NFT to support the LGBTQIA+ community.
The brand has opted to collaborate with Amar Singh, a London gallery owner, and the Rewind artist collective to produce a digital artwork that will be auctioned to assist the Le MAG Jeunes organization.
Rewind Collective’s artwork for Givenchy Parfums, titled “Pride,” is a sequence of animated portraits reflecting variety, the assertion of individuality, and the battle for equal rights.
2. Footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng Marries in the Metaverse with NFT Invitations
Former AC Milan and Barcelona player Kevin-Prince Boateng married Italian model Valentina Fradegrada in the first-ever ‘metaverse‘ wedding on Saturday, June 11.
The wedding ceremony was held both at the wedding couple’s secret location in Italy as well as in the metaverse, a virtual parallel world.
The wedding took place in the OVER metaverse, one of the major Ethereum-based metaverses focusing on Augmented Reality (AR). A limited number of fans could attend the ceremony by purchasing NFT invitations for $50 on Opensea.
3. Kraft Foods to Enter the Metaverse with NFTs, Virtual Restaurants, Food, and Drinks
American food manufacturing and processing conglomerate Kraft Foods has filed trademark applications for “Kraft,” Jell-O,” “Kool-Aid,” “Velveeta,” “Lunchables,” “Oscar Mayer,” and “Philadelphia” to enter the metaverse and the non-fungible token (NFT) space.
According to the applications, submitted to the USPTO on June 7, the company aims to provide NFTs, virtual foods and drinks, virtual restaurants and more.
4. Insurance Company FWD Launches Robot NFT Collection
FWD Insurance has launched its first non-fungible token (NFT) collection of robot-themed artwork as its maiden entry into Web3.
The collection, which debuted at the insurer’s 2022 Step Change leadership conference, includes nine robot artworks created by FWD employees. Each robot symbolizes a different leadership quality and promotes innovative thinking.
According to the insurance, the release of its robot NFT collection marks a significant milestone because it represents the brand’s first-ever activation within the metaverse.
5. Lacoste Launches NFT and Unveils UNDW3 experience
Lacoste has officially joined the Web3 space with the introduction of the Lacoste UNDW3 experience and NFTs.
Through this initiative, Lacoste hopes to develop a community of people who have similar interests and contribute by bringing participants on a journey to experience collaborative fashion in a new, creative way.
There are 11212 collectibles available, a number that refers to Rene Lacoste’s first-ever polo, l1212, which he designed in 1933.
6. Chevrolet Announces “Own the Color” NFT Auction with Physical Corvette Z06 finished in “Minted Green” Color
Chevrolet is making its Web3 debut with the launch of its “Own The Color” NFT auction.
The auction will feature a one-of-a-kind NFT artwork inspired by the 2023 Corvette Z06, together with a custom-painted, real-life 2023 Corvette Z06 color-matched to the artwork.
The Corvette Z06-inspired NFT artwork by artist xsullo includes a specific hue, “Minted Green,” and the auction winner will be guaranteed that Chevrolet will not utilize Minted Green on another production of 2023 Corvette Z06, granting the holder exclusivity.
The physical Corvette Z06, complete with the Z07 performance package, carbon fiber wheels, and a commemorative plaque, will carry the option code RFN, in addition to a digital proof of ownership and authenticity for the art piece.
7. Luxury Brand Bulgari Joins the Metaverse with Virtual Rome and Introduces NFT Watch
Bulgari revealed its new metaverse concept: building a private metaverse platform as a clear signal of the brand’s future path during VivaTech 2022, an international technology conference dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship hosted in Paris.
Bulgari’s proposal, in particular, strives to honor the magnificence of a futuristic Rome and its sunsets while enhancing Bulgari’s historic aesthetic traits.
Bulgari also revealed during the conference that its “Octo Finissimo Ultra” watch, dubbed the world’s thinnest mechanical watch and available in a limited edition of ten pieces, combines the physical and digital worlds. The owner of each timepiece receives access to a special NFT artwork that certifies the watch’s authenticity.
8. Sony to Launch “Tiki Guy” NFT with Physical Sony Spatial Reality Display
Sony has introduced its “Tiki Guy” NFT with a physical Sony Spatial Reality Display device.
The Tiki Guy NFT comes with the Tiki Guy 3D asset that can be displayed on Sony’s Spatial Reality Display, which is exclusively available to users with US delivery addresses as part of this limited edition drop.
As a result, customers are able to purchase the NFT (limited to 510 editions) or in conjunction with the Sony Spatial Reality Display device (limited to 10 editions).
9. Author Jane Anson Sells Limited-edition NFT eBook of Bordeaux Legends
Jane Anson, a wine expert and author who has received multiple literary awards, including Louis Roederer Wine Online Communicator of the Year 2020 and Born Digital Best Editorial 2020, is re-releasing her book “Bordeaux Legends” as a limited edition NFT.
Bordeaux Legends is being re-created as a limited edition NFT of only 100 digital copies.
NFT holders will also get access to additional advantages including online tastings, lifetime membership to janeanson.com, and the opportunity to accompany Jane Anson on a very special week of châteaux visits.
10. Swiss Luxury Watchmaker TAG Heuer Unveils NFT-enabled Smartwatch
Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has partnered with the well-known non-fungible token (NFT) community surrounding Bored Ape Yacht Club and CLONE-X to develop a smartwatch that shows NFTs and links to crypto wallets like MetaMask and Ledger Live.
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 allows users to show NFT artworks on their watch by linking their cryptocurrency wallet to ensure authenticity.
This innovative experience is part of TAG Heuer’s growing digital ecosystem of applications and watch faces built by an in-house development team and carrying the brand’s characteristic design marks.
