Last month, Theta Labs announced its desire to assist Sony in the launch of 3D non-fungible tokens (NFTs) compatible with its Spatial Reality Display.
Sony is now introducing its “Tiki Guy” NFT with a physical Sony Spatial Reality Display device, making that ambition a reality.
In describing the Tiki Guy NFT, the designer said: “The original purpose was to make them as scary as possible to frighten away ‘Evil Spirits’. They would be bestowed with ‘Mana’ which is spiritual energy of power and strength. Back in the 50s and 60s in the US, the Polynesian culture and entered into pop culture with ‘Tiki Bars’ and other types of art. Today is still a fun and kitschy art form in the US.”
The Tiki Guy NFT comes with the Tiki Guy 3D asset that can be displayed on Sony’s Spatial Reality Display, which is exclusively available to users with US delivery addresses as part of this limited edition drop.
As a result, customers will be able to purchase the NFT (limited to 510 editions) for $100 or in conjunction with the Sony Spatial Reality Display device (limited to 10 editions) for $5,100.
People may immediately sign up for the waitlist and qualify for the opening that will take place tomorrow.
