Former AC Milan and Barcelona player Kevin-Prince Boateng married Italian model Valentina Fradegrada in the first-ever ‘metaverse‘ wedding on Saturday, June 11.
The wedding ceremony was held both at the wedding couple’s secret location in Italy as well as in the metaverse, a virtual parallel world.
The wedding took place in the OVER metaverse, one of the major Ethereum-based metaverses focusing on Augmented Reality (AR). This was the first wedding ever held in the OVER metaverse, and it was created and tailored expressly for the occasion.
A limited number of fans could attend the ceremony by purchasing NFT invitations for $50 on Opensea.
