“For every success, there are countless roadblocks and failures that came before. This is particularly true when it comes to fundraising for startups.” This is how entrepreneur and award-winning author Rebekah Bastian begins her presentation of her non-fungible token (NFT) initiative.
To support businesses facing daily rejection, Rebekah Bastian decided to collect real rejection letters startup founders have received and turn them into NFTs.
Many of the startups that received those letters succeeded, while others failed. Startup names will be hidden and will be revealed to the collector after the purchase.
Several of the letters may belong to very successful companies, making them highly valuable.
The collection is already up for sale on OpenSea, with each NFT letter costing between 0.05 ETH (or $63 at the time of writing) and 0.5 ETH (or $636 at the time of writing).
The proceeds from the NFT sale will be returned to the founders. Rebekah Bastian is not profiting from the initiative, but she did submit a few rejection letters of her own.
