American rapper Lil Durk has joined the Web3 craze by releasing his first phygital sneaker collection, NXTG3NZ.
The collection strives to connect the real and virtual worlds and is intended for generation Z; part of the name, G3NZ, incorporates the number “3” to indicate the focus on Web3 technology, while the letter “Z” represents Generation Z.
The physical shoes will only be available to NFT holders: the digital collection contains 11,111 NFTs minted on the Algorand blockchain. The NFTs will be offered on the NXTG3NZ marketplace — which will be launched soon — for a yet-unknown price.
Holders will be able to use their virtual sneakers to outfit their avatars in different metaverses and online realms — including the NXTG3NZ open-world game, which will allow them to level up, receive awards, and enhance the value of their NFTs.
Several utilities will be available to NXTG3NZ holders, including access to private discord and telegram events and communities, IRL events, access to future drops, and unique contests to win exclusive rewards.
The physical shoe manufacturing and delivery date are yet undetermined; however, the website states that they will be developed and manufactured in partnership with industry experts who have worked for some of the world’s best shoe companies.
