Non-fungible token (NFT) project Pudgy Penguins has renewed its collaboration with Unstoppable Domains, enabling users to access Pudgy World with their pudgy domain names.
This collaboration builds on their previous partnership from last February, which introduced the “.pudgy” extension. This extension provides personalized Web3 domains, enabling users to create a distinct digital identity within the Pudgy Penguins community.
Web3 domains simplify the process of sending and receiving cryptocurrency and logging into dApps by replacing the typical long wallet addresses with simple, memorable words and names.
With this new update, users will no longer need to use passwords, email, or accounts from Google or Apple to enter Pudgy World once it launches in Q4 of this year.
The announcement was made yesterday at the ETHcc event and later confirmed by Unstoppable Domains on X (formerly Twitter).
The post also mentioned that .Pudgy domains will eventually be minted on AbstractChain by Igloo, Inc., the newly formed parent company of Pudgy Penguins and OverpassIP. Igloo, Inc. aims to “create the largest onchain community, driving the consumer crypto revolution.”
Over the past year, Pudgy Penguins has made significant efforts to expand its community and extend its reach beyond the digital realm. The project has introduced Pudgy Toys to retail giants such as Big W in Australia, GameStop, Target, and additional Walmart stores.
Launched in 2021, Pudgy Penguins started as a collection of 8,888 Ethereum-based cartoon penguins. It has quickly risen to prominence in the NFT space. According to CoinMarketCap, Pudgy Penguins ranks first in sales volume over the past 30 days, with a 71% increase in sales and a 43% increase in trading volume during the last month.
