In a move that combines nostalgia, conservation, and digital art, Nestlé has released an NFT collection paying homage to Chocolate Surpresa, the beloved Brazilian chocolate brand that gained immense popularity during the 1980s and early 1990s.
The NFT collection, dubbed “Art of Preservation,” is part of a collaborative project between Nestlé and SOS Mata Atlantica, an environmental organization dedicated to preserving the most endangered biome in Brazil. The main aim of this initiative is to raise awareness and funds for conservation efforts in the region.
Featuring a series of 50 distinct digital cards, the Art of Preservation NFTs showcase illustrations of critically endangered animals, including the collared sloth, tapir, and giant anteater. These designs were created through a collaboration with five talented artists, ensuring a diverse collection.
To support this noble cause, each Art of Preservation NFT will be available for purchase at approximately $100 on a dedicated website. 100% of the proceeds from the NFT sales will be donated to SOS Mata Atlantica, emphasizing Nestlé’s commitment to environmental conservation.
This latest venture into the world of NFTs is not Nestlé’s first foray into the realm of digital collectibles. In April 2022, the company successfully launched its first NFT collection to commemorate the introduction of the TRIX Breakfast Cereal brand in the Middle East and North Africa.
