American business magazine Forbes has stepped into the metaverse by establishing a “permanent land” within The Sandbox platform.
The virtual space includes various locations such as a pool, bar, and gallery designed to honor the 2024 Under 30 recipients.
Visitors to Forbes’ Sandbox estate can not only explore the surroundings but also engage in interactive experiences by scanning QR codes placed throughout the metaverse space. The experience also incorporates a scavenger hunt, leading participants on a journey to uncover exclusive content, gain insights, and engage in unique experiences.
Forbes’ metaverse space will function as a community hub, promoting interaction and collaboration among the Forbes Web3 community, which centers on discussions and activities related to NFTs, crypto, and Web3 technologies.
Throughout time, the virtual space will also host diverse interactive experiences, workshops, and events.
This move by Forbes follows a trend set by other prominent magazines entering Web3. TIME magazine, in 2022, submitted a trademark application to venture into the metaverse and NFTs. In February 2023, Vogue Singapore introduced a metaverse initiative named “From Blockchain to Love Chain,” along with associated NFTs.
