India is on the brink of a new frontier with the inauguration of the country’s first Metaverse Experience Center (MEC) in Noida.
Led by the Metaverse911 team, MEC aims to serve as a central hub for enthusiasts, creators, and innovators to convene and explore metaverse technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and digital twin solutions.
Accessible to visitors, the Center offers a range of VR experiences, including industry use cases and game-based simulations. Additionally, MEC will host monthly workshops focused on industry challenges, providing a platform for leaders to explore potential solutions.
Rahul Sethi, Founder & Chairman of Metaverse911, explained, “Our goal is to provide a platform for CIOs, CTOs, CXOs, and industry leaders to explore solutions that can be implemented to solve their organizational challenges; ushering in a new era of digital innovation in the country.”
The opening of MEC reflects India’s commitment to fostering innovation, aligning with previous initiatives such as the “Creators of Metaverse” program launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Meta, aimed at preparing youth for Web3 technology.
Recent efforts, such as the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) introduction of non-fungible token (NFT) train tickets during Holi, further demonstrate the country’s forward-thinking approach.
A recent report forecasts that India’s Metaverse and Web3 market could reach $200 billion by 2035, underscoring the nation’s potential as a key player in the digital landscape.
