The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Meta have joined forces to launch the “Creators of Metaverse” program. Geared towards preparing India’s youth for the future of Web3 technology, this initiative aims to provide college students and faculty members with knowledge and technical skills in Augmented Reality (AR).
At the heart of this program lies the Meta Spark platform, a user-friendly tool that empowers individuals to create virtual experiences with ease. The goal is to reach 100,000 college students and 20,000 faculty members, empowering them with expertise in AR technology.
Designed as a gamified journey, the program spans over 10 days, featuring a 20-hour curriculum enriched with instructor-led sessions, group mentoring, and hands-on project-based assignments. By immersing participants in a dynamic and interactive learning experience, the initiative aims to nurture their proficiency in AR.
One of the key highlights of the program is the opportunity it provides to students to work with industry-grade AR software tools and resources. As they undertake various projects, they will not only build portfolios but also expand their professional networks, gaining valuable insights into the world of virtual workplace experiences.
Additionally, students enrolled in the program will receive dedicated support to achieve Meta certification as Meta Spark creators. This exclusive guidance from experienced mentors will prepare them for the Meta Spark Creator Exam, further bolstering their expertise in the rapidly-evolving field of AR technology.
The “Creators of Metaverse” program represents a transformative step towards nurturing a skilled workforce in India, ready to embrace the innovative advancements in Web3 technology.
India has emerged as a leader in adopting Web3 technologies. In a significant move last month, Punjab National Bank (PNB) introduced the pioneering “PNB Metaverse,” a virtual branch that promises to revolutionize the banking experience for its customers.
Meanwhile, Meta made headlines earlier in March by announcing the end of NFT features on its platforms Facebook and Instagram. However, the company appears to be fully committed to metaverse developments. In June, Meta unveiled the Meta Quest 3, its next-gen virtual reality (VR) headset slated for release in the upcoming fall.
