Doodles, a non-fungible token (NFT) project, recently provided additional details about its collaboration with Casio on NFT-inspired G-Shock watches.
In an X (Twitter) post shared on February 5, Doodles unveiled the outcome of the collaboration — a G-Shock watch designed by Doodles’ artist creator, Burnt Toast, and the creative team.
The watch showcases the original triple-indicator DW-6900B watch band adorned with Doodles’ distinctive “touch grass” motif.
Priced at $169 each, the watch will come with a digital collectible powered by IYK, a company using NFC and blockchain technology to connect the physical and digital realms.
The collaborative release will also include additional limited-edition items, including an alien vinyl, hoodie, t-shirt, and hat.
The official debut of the G-Shock watch and limited-edition merch is set for 2G Tokyo on February 9 to 11, 2024, followed by the online release on February 15.
First access to the release will be granted to Doodles OG holders and the Virtual G-Shock community. This collaboration follows Doodles’ recent partnerships with brands like Crocs and Pharrell Williams.
For Casio, this collaboration represents another venture into the Web3 space, following its initial foray in September 2023. Other initiatives in the space included launching the brand’s first metaverse watch store and introducing an NFT series featuring futuristic interpretations of G-Shock watches.
