Casio, the esteemed watch brand, advances further into the realm of Web3 with the revelation of a limited-edition series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Drawing inspiration from Casio’s durable G-SHOCK watches designed to withstand mechanical stress, shock, and vibration, the collection envisions these models in a futuristic rendition.
Comprising a total of 2,000 NFTs, the collection is divided into two versions — VGA-001 featuring a balloon concept with vivid colors and VGA-002 featuring a leaf spring concept.
The NFTs will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain, each priced at 0.1 ETH, equivalent to approximately $200.
Scheduled for release on December 15, the collection grants priority access to G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFT holders during the sale.
This launch extends Casio’s Web3 initiative, “Virtual G-SHOCK,” introduced in September. The project’s debut saw the release of 15,000 free limited-edition G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFTs on Polygon.
In the previous month, Casio made its foray into the metaverse, inaugurating a virtual G-SHOCK watch store in collaboration with the virtual world platform VRchat. Within this digital space, users have the opportunity to personalize and acquire virtual watches to outfit their avatars.
