Venture capital company Animoca Brands has achieved another milestone in the Web3 space with the sell-out of Season 2 of its Publisher non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
These exclusive NFTs were distributed through TinyTap, an edtech platform specializing in educational games and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands. TinyTap empowers educators to publish interactive educational content, earning revenue when learners engage with their creations.
The collection, including 720 NFTs, sold out in three hours, resulting in the generation of 538,560 EDU tokens, valued at approximately $333,907 at the time of sale. This sale will support the ongoing development of educational content by more than 160 creators on the TinyTap platform.
Publisher NFTs offer exclusive co-publishing rights to specific educational content, allowing holders to earn a substantial share — up to 80% — of the associated revenue by actively promoting and marketing it. This model incentivizes creators to focus on crafting top-tier content, while NFT holders contribute to distribution and promotion.
Animoca Brands initially introduced the concept of Publisher NFTs in 2022 with the inaugural series auctioned a few months after the launch of the TinyTap platform. The recently concluded Season 2 sale signifies the project’s evolution and highlights Animoca Brands’ continued progress in the Web3 landscape.
In a recent strategic collaboration, Animoca Brands joined forces with Ubisoft to propel Mocaverse’s Web3 gaming initiatives, integrating Ubisoft’s forthcoming game, Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles. Additionally, Animoca Brands’ Japan division introduced a noteworthy NFT collection this month, bringing characters from the “Liar Liar” anime to life as exclusive eFigurines.
