Hong Kong-based game software company Animoca Brands has disclosed a strategic collaboration with Ubisoft to bolster its Web3 initiatives within Mocaverse.
As outlined in the press release issued today, on November 21, Mocaverse, the NFT project launched by Animoca Brands, is set to cooperate and bolster Ubisoft’s Web3 initiatives, encompassing the upcoming PVP Tactical role-playing game, “Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles.”
In line with this, Animoca Brands will incorporate the game into its “Web3 Frequent Player Program,” serving as a key activation for Mocaverse.
The program enables Moca ID holders (a decentralized identity) to earn Realm Points through active engagement. These points can then be redeemed for exclusive access to both digital and real-world benefits and rewards from Mocaverse, Animoca Brands, and partner networks.
Accumulation and calculation of these points will be governed by a loyalty system that gauges the involvement of Moca NFT holders within the Mocaverse ecosystem.
Animoca Brands introduced its Mocaverse project in December 2022, unveiling 8,888 PFP NFTs exclusively available to Animoca Brands’ inner circle, comprising friends, family, employees, partners, and investors.
These NFTs were introduced to delineate the Animoca Brands Web3 ecosystem, categorized into four realms: learn, play, build, and do good. Initiative examples include masterclasses, in-game assets, accelerator programs, and other offerings.
In June, Animoca Brands collaborated with Rarible to establish a dedicated marketplace for Mocaverse NFTs. In September, the company secured $20 million in funding, spearheaded by CMCC Global, to propel the Mocaverse NFT project forward.
Concerning Ubisoft, the collaboration with Animoca Brands marks another progression into the realm of Web3.
Just a few days ago, Ubisoft revealed the release of free Ethereum-based PFP NFTs for its game, Champions Tactics. Furthermore, yesterday, the company unveiled a new venture — a partnership with The Sandbox to introduce a metaverse avatar collection inspired by the Netflix series “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.”
