Animoca Brands is making a comeback with a new project in the non-fungible token (NFT) space. This time, the venture capital company has made its debut with the Mocaverse NFT collection.
The collection, which comprises 8,888 NFTs, is a PFP type, which means that the NFTs are intended to be used as profile pictures.
Each NFT, nicknamed Mocas, belongs to one of five tribes: Dreamers, Builders, Angels, Connectors, and Neo-Capitalists.
Utilities incorporated within each NFT can be classified into four realm categories: learn, play, build, and do good; examples include masterclasses, in-game assets, accelerator programs, and others.
The collection will allow Animoca Brands to expand its Web3 enthusiast community while also strengthening its ecosystem and market position.
Access to the collection will initially be restricted to Animoca Brands’ friends and family, including its workers, partners, and investors.
Of course, this is not Animoca Brands’ first experience in Web3. It recently acquired a majority stake in music metaverse platform Pixelynx, with the goal of transforming the way fans and artists connect.
Last month, it partnered with Cool Cats and OneFootball Labs to launch the “Cool Cats FC” NFT collection and with educational platform TinyTap to auction Publisher NFTs.
