Japan’s SBI Holdings, a financial services company and partner of Ripple, has launched its non-fungible token (NFT) service for the digital wallet created in preparation for the upcoming Expo 2025 in Osaka.
The service, named “Myakoon!”, launched on July 1, allows users to earn and create exclusive Expo-themed NFTs minted on the XRP Ledger.
The NFTs can be earned through a rewards program that involves participating in both the physical and virtual Expo activities. This includes using the Expo’s unique electronic money, “Myakupe!”, which can be loaded from a credit card or bank account. The money can be spent at Visa member stores nationwide, supporting touch payment inside and outside the Expo site.
The rewards program enables users to accumulate points and gain levels, leading to higher status. As users’ status levels increase, they gain access to more perks, including the chance to create additional NFTs by converting their own photos.
To mark the launch of the Myakoon! service, SBI Holdings has released a collection of commemorative NFTs. The series includes 5,000 NFTs, with about 4,500 still available at the time of writing. These NFTs are commemorative and cannot be transferred or sold.
The launch has significantly impacted XRP token trading, with volume increasing by 40.9% in the last 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data. The token’s price has seen a modest increase of 0.5%.
