Animoca Brands’ Japan division has revealed plans for an upcoming release of a non-fungible token (NFT) collection featuring eFigurines based on characters from the Japanese TV anime “Liar Liar.”
The popular Japanese romantic comedy series, Liar Liar, authored by Haruki Kuō and illustrated by konomi, will be represented in the collection by three key characters: “Himeji Shirayuki,” “Saionji Sarasa,” and “Shiina Tsumugi.” Each character’s NFT edition will be limited to 1,000 units.
NFT holders will have the opportunity to claim a corresponding physical figurine of identical design, connected through a Physical Backed Token (PBT). The PBT is an open-source digital token linked to a physical asset, using the Ethereum network.
While the pricing details for these NFTs remain undisclosed, the collection is slated for release in March 2024 via Weebox, a platform designed for the acquisition, trading, and ownership of licensed digital anime collectibles.
This unveiling contributes to Animoca Brands’ ongoing initiatives in the Web3 space.
In September, the company collaborated with Honda to introduce NFTs during the Formula 1 Honda & Red Bull Welcome Event in Tokyo.
In December 2022, Animoca Brands launched its own NFT collection, Mocaverse, featuring 8,888 PFP NFTs with utilities for holders.
