Rarible and the Celo Foundation have teamed up to introduce “Celosphere,” an NFT marketplace focused on environmentally impactful projects.
Operating on Celo, a carbon-negative Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain network that prioritizes mobile accessibility, Celosphere is powered by RaribleX — an integrated solution enabling the creation of tailored NFT platforms.
Within Celosphere, users can engage in the buying, selling, and trading of digital collectibles while exploring initiatives with environmental impact.
Among the inaugural NFT projects featured on Celosphere are Plastiks, which offers tokenized plastics recovery certificates; Ecosapiens, an eco-conscious community advocating climate action through a series of digital collectibles; and STEWARD, a dynamic NFT collection channeling funds towards climate-focused nonprofits and indigenous organizations dedicated to preserving the world’s ecosystems.
Another featured project is Maya Spirits, an impact organization based in Mexico that leverages blockchain and art to tackle essential eco-sustainable initiatives in the Calakmul jungle.
To celebrate the Celosphere marketplace launch, Celosphere has also introduced the Celo Creators Fund, a rewards program offering 150,000 USDC to incentivize artists and companies to develop impactful NFT collections. Submissions are open until April 24.
