Chinese-American filmmaker Springna Zhao has revealed her latest project, “NFTY30,” a documentary delving into the Web3 revolution with a specific focus on non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The documentary takes a deep dive into how NFTs have been reshaping various industries, including art, music, and investments, offering newfound visibility and financial opportunities for individuals within these realms.
The number 30 in the title signifies the documentary’s spotlight on the top 30 figures driving the NFT movement and disruptive technologies. These luminaries include personalities such as Cool Cats’ Clon, Super Influencer Swan Sit, and renowned artist Beeple. Additionally, insights from figures like Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin, Block’s Jack Dorsey, and MIT’s Lex Fridman are anticipated to enrich the discourse.
According to Zhao, the documentary’s goal is to enlighten viewers about the potentials presented by Web3 technologies while also raising awareness about the associated risks and potential challenges.
The documentary premiered alongside its trailer on April 5 at NFT NYC, a prominent annual event in New York City dedicated to NFTs.
This isn’t the first documentary to explore NFTs. In 2022, Amazon Prime introduced “NFTMe,” a series delving into the rising popularity of NFTs, and recently, Netflix UK acquired “NFT:WTF?,” examining the impact of NFTs on the art market.
