Bitcoin & Friends, the first animated series centered on Bitcoin, is set to debut its first season on January 3, 2024, accompanied by an integrated non-fungible token (NFT) treasure hunt.
The season comprises eight episodes, each revealing a seed phrase enabling users to unlock a Bitcoin Ordinal (Bitcoin NFT). The phrases, displayed in the VT323 font, consist of 6 words. Once users assemble 12 words, they gain access to the wallet, allowing the transfer of the Ordinal to another wallet.
The NFT hunt showcases characters from season one, such as “B,” the Bitcoin protagonist, Char LeeLee, Craig Wrong, and Britt.
NFT holders can enjoy various perks for Season 2, including co-producer credit, a personalized character, access to the writer’s room, and pre-screening privileges.
Those who are unable to successfully unlock NFTs in the treasure hunt game still have the option to explore acquiring other NFTs that highlight additional characters from the inaugural season.
The purchasable NFTs present a diverse array of characters from the first season, with pricing spanning from 0.05 BTC ($2134) to 21 BTC ($896,492) for the highly sought-after Satoshi Nakamoto NFT character.
Bitcoin and Friends’ inaugural season will premiere on YouTube, with the first episode titled “A Coin Is Born,” chronicling the genesis of Bitcoin.
This occurrence isn’t the initial integration of NFTs or crypto in an animated series. Recently, Cool Cats introduced “The Milk Chug” series on YouTube, showcasing beloved NFT characters in animated shorts. The second episode, added to Cool Cats’ diverse entertainment portfolio, was released a few days ago.
