Beatport.io, the music-focused NFT marketplace by Beatport, has unveiled a new NFT collection and documentary to mark the fifth anniversary of HE.SHE.THEY., a punk band hailing from Moncton, Canada.
The collection, dubbed “KINSHIP,” is a collaborative effort with 3D visual artist Enes Güç and musical artist Wax Wings, featuring the band’s ethos and celebrating inclusivity and diversity.
The collection includes a 3D painting tour by Güç and a musical track from Wings, combining diverse eras of art history and mythology while looking toward the future. The painting captures the essence of HE.SHE.THEY.’s founders, Sophia Kearney and Steven Braines, along with a diverse array of the band’s artists and dancers.
The NFT artworks will be available in two versions: the Digital Edition and the Club Edition. The Digital Edition, priced at 0.002 ETH ($5), will be available for open minting, while the Club Edition will be priced at 0.011 ETH ($20) and limited to 100 units,
Co-founders Sophia Kearney and Steven Braines stated that “KINSHIP stands as a bold statement on intersectionality, embodying a celebration of diversity, unity, and empathy. It’s more than just an art project; it’s a movement for a more inclusive tomorrow.”
NFT holders will not only own the artwork but will also gain early access to Beatport’s “Off The Record” documentary with HE.SHE.THEY., showcasing the band’s impact on global dance culture.
Additional rewards include new music, including a downloadable score by Wax Wings, and custom cell phone/desktop wallpapers of KINSHIP. Club Edition holders will also get access to the band’s events in 2024.
The collection is available from today, November 9, until the end of the year, December 31.Beatport.io, launched earlier this year, operates as a music-focused NFT marketplace on Aventus, a parachain on Polkadot. In July, Beatport.io introduced its first NFT collection, NACHTS, paying homage to Berlin’s techno scene by featuring over 175 personalities through images and videos captured by photographer and bouncer Mischa Fanghaenel.
