Yuga Labs, the company behind popular NFT projects like BAYC, has announced the launch of an NFT collection minted on the Bitcoin-based Ordinals protocol.
The collection, dubbed “TwelveFold,” will include 300 generative NFT artworks centered on the base 12 art system set on a 12×12 grid, symbolizing Bitcoin’s blockchain data map.
It incorporates both 3D elements and hand-drawn elements, which honor the handwritten ordinal inscriptions.
Yuga Labs’ art team created each piece in-house using 3D modeling, algorithmic construction, and high-end rendering techniques.
The TwelveFold collection will be auctioned off later this week, with all bids made in Bitcoin.
According to Yuga Labs, these NFTs will not interact with or be tied to any prior, existing, or future Ethereum-based Yuga projects.
This new collection marks another step into the NFT space for the company. Last month, Yuga Labs introduced Dookey Dash, a skill-based minting game, and a Sewer Pass NFT mint.
In an effort to make NFT art recognized as contemporary art, Yuga Labs also recently donated CryptoPunk #110 NFT to the Centre Pompidou as part of its Punks Legacy Project.
