Yuga Labs, the creator of famous NFT projects such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and CryptoPunks, has announced the next installment of the Punks Legacy Project.
The initiative involves donating CryptoPunk NFTs to museums all around the world so that people can learn about and appreciate them as part of modern and contemporary art.
As part of the most recent donation, CryptoPunk #110 will join the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou, one of France’s most visited museums and worldwide recognized for its 20th and 21st-century art collections.
This is the second contribution as part of the Punks Legacy Project; last year, Yuga Labs donated CryptoPunk #305 to the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.
CryptoPunks is widely regarded as starting the 2021 NFT craze and remains one of the most popular NFT collections.
The collection features a total of 10,000 Ethereum-based NFTs portraying 24×24-pixel, 8-bit-style unique avatars inspired by the London punk scene.
CryptoPunks have been a key part of several collaborations in the last few years; in August, Tiffany & Co launched the NFTiff, a collection of 250 NFT passes that CryptoPunks holders could redeem in exchange for a custom-designed pendant and an NFT digital artwork.
