American DJ and music producer Steve Aoki is teaming up with the STEPN move-to-earn Web3 app to introduce a limited edition non-fungible token (NFT) sneaker collection.
The collection will comprise a total of 300 digital sneakers, with 60 reserved for Aoki’s dedicated community.
The sneakers are divided into four design categories: walkers, joggers, runners, and trainers. Each design bears Steve Aoki’s signature and vibrant colors, accompanied by various illustrations like aliens and dragons. These design elements serve as a visual and emotional homage to Aoki’s “HiROQUEST” album, drawing inspiration from the mystical rings and symbolic motifs within the album’s narrative.
To acquire these digital sneakers, individuals can take part in daily raffles taking place from October 31 to November 3. Winners will have the opportunity to purchase each pair for 3,500 GMT (the STEPN governance token), which is approximately $680.
These co-branded NFT sneakers will be minted on the Solana blockchain and made available through STEPN’s MOOAR NFT marketplace.
STEPN, launched in 2021, is a DeFi application that allows users to earn cryptocurrency by selecting digital sneakers and engaging in real-life physical activities.
In May 2022, STEPN partnered with ASICS to release NFT sneakers that enable users to collect tokens and NFT rewards while using its app.
In August 2022, Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin joined forces with the STEPN app to introduce the first Genesis NFT sneaker collection.
Steve Aoki, no stranger to the Web3 world, previously collaborated with NFT music startup Relics in May 2023 to release NFT jukeboxes for the metaverse.
