Sorare, a blockchain-based fantasy game, has announced it has inked a multi-year agreement with the Premier League.
As an outcome of the partnership, fans will be able to collect and trade NFT cards depicting players from the Premier League’s 20 clubs through Sorare’s portal.
In addition to owning and trading player cards, holders will be able to select five of them, form a team and earn points based on real-life performance, or engage in reward-based competitions.
Sorare: Football has announced major upgrades to commemorate this partnership, including new tournaments, features, and enhancements to the shopping and managing experiences.
Last year, Sorare was valued at $4.3 billion, and it secured $680 million in a Series B round for its fantasy sports NFT game.
The fantasy gaming platform has already worked with football clubs to broaden its reach and provide collectors with more alternatives when it comes to choosing NFT cards, establishing connections with over 300 football clubs and teams worldwide — including Europe’s top leagues.
In July, for example, it collaborated with AC Milan to advance the Club’s Web3 development. Lionel Messi, the Argentine professional footballer, became a brand ambassador and investor in the NFT gaming platform in November.
The partnership with the Premier League will help Sorare’s mission to present fans with a new, more exciting way to connect with their favorite players and have fun while making money.
