Skoda Auto, the Czech automobile manufacturer founded in 1925, has made a foray into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through its subsidiary, Skoda India.
Under this new initiative, Skoda India has launched “Skodaverse India,” a cutting-edge platform where users can explore, buy and collect digital collectibles.
The primary goal of the platform is to prioritize environmental sustainability and minimize gas fees by leveraging carbon-neutral blockchains for minting NFTs.
The NFTs available in this marketplace will embody Skoda’s rich heritage and future aspirations, allowing both NFT enthusiasts and automotive fans to own a tangible piece of Skoda’s vision. Moreover, NFT holders will gain access to exclusive benefits, rewards, and unique experiences.
According to the platform’s website, the first NFT drop will be unveiled shortly and will showcase unique Skoda NFTs.
Additionally, the platform will offer an engaging gamified experience, enabling users to participate in games and challenges to earn rewards.
Skoda Auto joins the ranks of other automotive companies that have already demonstrated their interest in Web3 by launching different projects. In April, Cupra unveiled “Cupra District,” a metaverse experience that allows fans to explore car models, interact with the brand, and engage in exciting games and challenges. BMW also joined the trend in January with the introduction of “i Vision Dee,” a metaverse car symbolizing the brand’s vision for digital mobility in the future.
Last year, Lamborghini collaborated with NFT PRO and INVNT.ATOM to unveil its third initiative in the NFT space. The collaboration concluded in March of this year, commemorating Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary with a special NFT release.
