Shiba Inu has unveiled a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection, introducing female versions of its SHIboshi NFTs just after Valentine’s Day. Dubbed “SHEboshis,” the collection is designed to celebrate “women, innovation, and a strong vote on the future of NFTs.”
The collection was first announced through a video post featuring the “Love is in the Air” claim, shared on X (Twitter) by the official Shiba Inu account on February 12.
The SHEboshis NFTs will be distributed for free to the most dedicated SHIboshi holders, determined through a snapshot highlighting holders over the years. Wallets will be categorized based on factors such as the number of SHIboshis held and the duration of ownership to determine the quantity of SHEboshis claimable per wallet.
The claiming process will commence over this weekend and will remain open for approximately 72 hours.
After that, $LEASH holders — a token within the Shiba Inu ecosystem — will have priority access to the remaining SHEboshis for 24 hours before they are made available to the public until sold out.
The new release adopts the ERC-404 standard, an experimental hybrid token standard enabling fractional ownership of NFTs, showcasing Shiba Inu’s commitment to exploring innovative approaches in the NFT space.
Shiba Inu’s latest drop exemplifies its ongoing efforts to embrace innovation while also supporting real-world initiatives.
The project has a history of collaborating with various brands and influential figures for exclusive releases. Notably, in November, Shiba Inu partnered with the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, integrating Shibarium into its operations, releasing NFTs, and promoting crypto donations for philanthropic endeavors. Additionally, in 2022, Shiba Inu collaborated with John Richmond to launch an NFT fashion collection, highlighting its diverse engagement with different industries.
