In a recent press release shared with Cryptoflies, Moonbeam Network revealed its collaboration with Animo Industries, a game development studio, aimed at enhancing user experiences within the Animo ecosystem.
The partnership focuses on integrating Moonbeam’s smart contract platform into Animo’s multiplayer video game and non-fungible token (NFT) offerings.
Animo, in the works for over two years, is dedicated to delivering a top-notch gaming experience through “Stars Arena,” a free-to-play third-person multiplayer shooter game, coupled with an NFT collection and real-world collectibles.
The Stars Arena game — scheduled for launch on March 1, 2024 — is set to be accessible through the Epic Games and Steam stores, with plans for versions tailored for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch systems in progress.
This collaboration aligns with Moonbeam’s strategy to transcend the conventional play-to-earn (P2E) model in blockchain gaming. The focus is on prioritizing gamers and ensuring that the integration of Web3 technology adds substantive value to the core gameplay mechanics.
Animo’s core values emphasize the importance of creating enjoyable and equitable gaming experiences, fostering a community where players can compete and forge friendships, and providing players with ownership of in-game items earned through gameplay.
Notably, Animo’s NFT collection has generated substantial trading activity, surpassing 3,000 ETH in trade volume since December 2021, translating to over $8 million at current market prices.
The rising popularity of Web3 gaming is substantiated by market projections, with NASDAQ data indicating a substantial increase over the past three years, forecasting an industry valuation of approximately $65.7 billion by 2027.
