Fashion brand Lacoste commemorates its 90th anniversary with an innovative celebration — a metaverse experience dubbed “Lacoste World Tour.”
Hosted on The Sandbox, this multiplayer experience transports users to the Lacoste island, which encompasses diverse locations — such as Tokyo, Paris, and Sao Paulo — offering engaging treasure hunts.
Each location boasts a distinct identity, featuring customized settings where visitors can partake in mini-games to earn SAND prizes.
Complementing the experience is an exclusive non-fungible token (NFT) fashion collection, allowing users to acquire Lacoste-branded items for their avatars via the marketplace.
The Lacoste World Tour metaverse experience is already accessible and will remain open for a limited time until December 7.
While this collaboration marks Lacoste’s inaugural partnership with The Sandbox, the brand had previously embraced Web3 in 2022, unveiling an NFT collection granting holders access to the UNDW3 experience. In 2023, Lacoste expanded its UNDW3 initiative, enabling NFT holders to unlock activities and exclusive perks.
Demonstrating a continued commitment to innovation, Lacoste, during 2022 and 2023, joined forces with virtual reality (VR) studio Emperia. This collaboration resulted in the creation of two virtual stores, allowing customers to virtually explore the latest fashion collections, make purchases within the metaverse, and have their chosen items delivered to their doorsteps.
