Gucci and Vans have announced a partnership to connect their two virtual worlds housed on Roblox, Gucci Town and Vans World.
As a result of this partnership, visitors will be able to use virtual shoeboxes as portals to effortlessly travel between the two metaverse spaces while participating in a scavenger hunt game.
Throughout the game, players must find all the missing items, and collecting all the pieces will reward them with either a pair of shoes or a skateboard-inspired bag that can be worn by their avatar.
Some of the digital items are inspired by the Gucci Vault x Vans “Continuum” collection, in which Vans used textiles archived from recent Gucci collections to create five unisex styles of footwear.
The Gucci Town and Vans World scavenger hunt is now live on Roblox and will end on May 13.
Vans debuted Vans World in 2021, while Gucci followed suit in 2022 with Gucci Town.
While Vans hasn’t made much noise in Web3, Gucci is one of the most active fashion brands in the space.
Gucci teamed with Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse project earlier this month, unveiling the first product of the collaboration: the KodaPendant, a necklace available both digitally as NFT and physically.
Additional initiatives from the fashion house include a collaboration with Superplastic for the launch of the brand’s first NFT collection, “SuperGucci,” as well as the launch of the “Gucci Vault Land” metaverse experience on The Sandbox.
