Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci has partnered with world-leading digital collectibles creator Superplastic to launch a SuperGucci non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
#SUPERGUCCI, probably nothing. Gucci has teamed up with @superplastic, a global entertainment brand of designer toys and digital collectibles, to create a series of NFTs dropping February 1st on #GucciVault. More https://t.co/zifYOyUOsa #AlessandroMichele @janky @guggimon pic.twitter.com/3B749zQs7b

Gucci’s head of design Alessandro Michele collaborated with synthetic artists Janky & Guggimon to create the 3-part NFT collection.
Each NFT features classic Gucci patterns and comes with a handcrafted SuperGucci SuperJanky sculpture, hand-crafted by Gucci’s ceramicists in Italy.
It is anticipated that only 250 NFTs will be minted, which will be released on three occasions, starting with the first drop on February 1.
The luxury brand Gucci is certainly taking another step toward the world of NFT. Last year, Gucci launched a virtual Gucci Garden on Roblox to mark its 100th anniversary under Alessandro Michele’s creative direction.
Thus, it seems Gucci is only just beginning its journey into the metaverse, following many other big brands, such as Adidas, Nike, Samsung, Gap, and so on.
