The price of Dogecoin has skyrocketed after Elon Musk replaced the classic Twitter bird logo with the meme cryptocurrency symbol.
The meme coin has already replaced the loading logo that appears when accessing Twitter via web, as well as the logo that appears above the left main menu.
The replacement quickly piqued the interest and curiosity of Twitter users, who were left wondering why.
After a few hours, Elon Musk tweeted a joke depicting Dogecoin on a car being stopped by a police officer who holds a driver’s license with the Twitter bird logo instead of the identity photo, with Doge commenting, “That’s an old photo.”
The cryptocurrency has increased by 25.69% in the previous 24 hours, reaching a price of approximately $0.09.
Although Dogecoin was created as a joke in 2013 to mock some of the crazy speculations in cryptocurrencies, Elon Musk has often expressed his support for it.
Elon Musk began accepting the meme coin as payment for Tesla merch in January 2022, leading Dogecoin to rise 18% in 24 hours, achieving a market capitalization of $26.1 billion.
