Papa Johns, the American pizza restaurant company, has announced a collaboration with OneRare, the world’s first food metaverse game, to release an NFT collection.
The collection includes three artworks of Papa Johns UAE’s best-selling pizzas: Super Papa’s, Spicy Chicken Ranch, and Vegan Sheese Garden Special.
The Poygon-based NFTs are accessible at the OneRare Kitchen, a gamified portal where users can purchase all the required ingredients and make their own pizza. Once players complete the dish, they can mint the pizza. Every mint complicates the recipe: the first mint needs one of each ingredient, the second requires two, and so on.
At this step, the Smart Contract will take the Ingredients NFTs from the players’ Metamask wallet, burn them, and deliver the Dish NFT to their wallet.
Dishes NFT holders will be able to use them to run their own Foodtruck in OneRare’s Playground, which will shortly feature Foodtruck Wars, a three-player strategic game, with more details to come.
This collaboration also marks Papa Johns’s entry into the metaverse, with branded virtual experiences that will provide visitors with an insight into the brand’s history and legendary recipes.
Papa John’s has previously been involved in the launch of other Web3-related initiatives; last year, the company released a collection of 19,840 NFT Hot Bags minted on the Tezos blockchain, with the number representing the year the company was founded (1984).
