Disney was one of the first large companies to enter the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Disney began its entry to the NFT world with the “Golden Moments” NFT collection, featuring characters from its most beloved movies, and “Steamboat Willie” Mickey Mouse NFTs, released in collaboration with the digital collectible company VeVe.
The American multinational entertainment and media conglomerate has now decided to hire NFT specialists to further enhance its efforts in the NFT space.
According to the website, the so-called manager of business development will “help lead Disney’s efforts in the NFT space including monitoring the evolving marketplace, setting category strategy, and managing key partners.”
Job requirements include a minimum of 5 years of licensing and/or business development experience, as well as knowledge and enthusiasm for digital and NFT categories.
The NFT trend does not appear to be ending anytime soon, leading companies to rethink strategies and ways to move forward. Some big brands have already jumped on board, including Gucci, which launched its Supergucci NFT collection a few days ago, or Adidas, which teamed up with Prada to launch the Adidas for Prada re-source NFT project.
It is, therefore, only a matter of time before other big brands join this growing list.
