Taking a step toward becoming a part of the metaverse and embracing non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Adidas has announced a collaboration with luxury fashion brand Prada to launch an NFT collection.
Adidas for Prada re-nylon collection is presumably the inspiration for this NFT collection. Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric is made from recycled plastic from the oceans and textile fiber wastes to create a fabric that can be purified and recycled indefinitely without any loss of quality.
adidas and @Prada explore a selection of apparel & accessory pieces carrying the DNA of both partners. Complementing the collection with a reinterpretation of the Forum through the addition of Prada’s signature Re-Nylon textile and mini-pouch attachments.

Adidas announced the digital collectibles on its official news site, noting, “We are also set to celebrate the inherently innovative spirit of their latest collection with a unique digital activation, bringing brands and people together in a radically inclusive manner. Collaborative by nature, fans of the collection will be invited to participate in the metaverse with Adidas and Prada through open-source co-creation.”
Adidas and Prada NFT Project: Adidas for Prada re-source
The Adidas and Prada NFT project, named “Adidas for Prada Re-source,” is set to bring participants from fashion, design, and cryptocurrency together to create digital artworks based on the physical Re-Nylon collection.
Adidas and Prada will invite their audiences to submit unique and anonymous photographs for the open-Metaverse NFT project.
Starting on January 24, anyone with a digital wallet can register to mint a pseudonymous NFT to be featured in the Adidas for Prada re-source NFT project.
Zach Lieberman, a renowned creative coder, and digital artist is planning to create a mass-patchwork NFT based on 3,000 curated community artworks.
Prada and Adidas will auction Lieberman’s final NFT on SuperRare, an NFT marketplace on Ethereum.
