ConsenSys, a pioneer in blockchain software technology, has announced the completion of the Shanghai/Capella upgrade, a significant milestone on the Ethereum roadmap.
This update will improve the Ethereum blockchain’s execution and consensus layers, allowing for the withdrawal of staked ETH.
Withdrawals will lower the hurdles to entry for both retail and institutional investors, and promote greater engagement in the Ethereum ecosystem.
To commemorate this milestone, ConsenSys is launching an NFT collection called “Ethereum, Evolved: Shanghai”, created in collaboration with acclaimed artist Marcel Deneuve.
The collection will have two editions: Commemorative and Open.
The first edition is a commemorative collection of two art NFTs that artistically portray the themes of liquidity and security. These NFTs will be distributed for free to Ethereum Core Developers on April 13 as a thank-you for their efforts.
The second edition is an open-edition NFT depicting one of the primary benefits of the Shanghai/Capella upgrade: decentralization. The NFT claim window will begin at 9 p.m. EST on April 12, 2023, and will stay open for 72 hours, during which collectors will be able to collect it for free.
ConsenSys has been at the forefront of blockchain compliance, auditing, research, and analysis since its inception. The development of one of the most popular wallets, MetaMask, increased the company’s global recognition.
Regarding MetaMask, Consensys has released updates and upgrades to enhance the user experience; a few days ago, it revealed that the MetaMask browser extension would soon incorporate NFT support, and unveiled a collaboration with OpenSea and Blockaid to deliver a scam-detecting tool.
