Atari, the renowned video game company, is commemorating 40 years of its original member jacket by reintroducing it exclusively for non-fungible token (NFT) holders.
The special edition “Member’s Only” iconic navy blue zip-up jackets are already available for pre-sale from today, November 2, to December 1. These jackets are reserved exclusively for holders of ARC NFTs, a collection of 8,000 NFTs minted in February 2022.
Maintaining the jacket’s original color, the new version boasts a thicker material and incorporates the once-removable Atari logo patch as a permanent feature.
The jackets are currently available for purchase on the company’s website, priced at $148 each, with a limited stock of 500 units. Shipping of the jackets is expected to begin in late February 2024.
Originally, the 1983 jackets were exclusively accessible to Club members through the Clubhouse Store. This latest edition carries on the tradition but adapts it to the digital era by offering it solely to NFT holders.
NFTs have emerged as a unique avenue for brands to reshape their customer relationships and foster community engagement, representing a novel approach to loyalty-building.
Atari has been at the forefront of embracing NFTs for quite some time. In January 2022, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary with a partnership with Republic Realm to launch a special NFT collection. Furthering the festivities, in August 2022, Atari collaborated with artist Butcher Billy to introduce the “50 Years of Atari” NFT collection.
