Arizona State University, the public university in Mesa, Arizona, has filed trademark applications for its names and “Red Devil” logo expressing its intentions to enter the metaverse and NFT space.
According to the trademark applications, the university aims to provide:
- NFT-backed media relating to athletes, sports highlights, and campus activities;
- Virtual clothing;
- Virtual environments for theatrical productions, athletic events, concerts, art exhibitions, and educational instruction.
The news was shared via Twitter by metaverse trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.

It appears the educational sector is also jumping on the technological bandwagon and trying to keep up with the wave that is involving more and more big brands and people.
