Reporter Luo Maolin of Shanghai Securities News reported a few days ago that the Metaverse comprehensive technology and industrial innovation platform “Metaverse and Virtual Reality Interaction Joint Research Institute” was officially established in Shanghai with the goal of facilitating “virtual-reality interaction”.
Academicians and well-known experts will form the academic committee, while top metaverse and related field business leaders and experts will serve as expert advisory committee members.
In order to promote the relevant work of the research institute, Professor Zhao Xing, from the Big Data Research Institute of Fudan University, has been appointed as the dean of the research institute. Mr. Lu Changqi, the director of Fudan University and the supervisor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was appointed as the institute’s principal consultant to supervise the institute’s building.
According to the source, Fudan University, China Mobile Migu, Tencent Interactive Entertainment, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Epic Games (Unreal Engine), Peking University, Renmin University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and others have collaborated to establish the research institute. Relevant institutes of the country’s well-known universities act as research co-construction units.
China Mobile’s Migu Video Technology Co., Ltd. would be one of the key leading units for the research institute’s debut.
