Shiseido is once again entering the non-fungible token (NFT) space, revealing the upcoming release of a generative art collection.
Inspired by Future Solution LX, Shiseido’s anti-aging skincare line, the collection is dubbed “Future Reflections.”
Developed in collaboration with four artists — Hannah Yan, Jen Stark, Kaoru Tanaka, and Robert Hodgin — along with Art Blocks Engine, a company offering generative minting technology, the collection comprises 1,872 distinct artworks, paying homage to Shiseido’s founding year.
Each NFT, crafted through digital techniques and algorithms, reimagines the intersections of science, technology, and beauty.
Scheduled for release on December 7 via the official website at no charge, the collection provides holders with access to utility, including Shiseido’s acclaimed Future Solution LX products.
This marks Shiseido’s second foray into the NFT realm; in February, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary with the launch of 150 NFTs and the “#AliveWithBeauty” community program.
Shiseido’s latest NFT venture aligns with a trend among beauty brands embracing Web3 to elevate customer engagement and rewards. For instance, Sephora incorporated NFTs and the metaverse into its annual “Sephoria” beauty event in July, while NYX Professional Makeup introduced GORJS beauty DAO’s inaugural NFT collection, “Dream Vortex,” in April.
