Renowned DJ Carl Cox is set to step into the metaverse, marking his virtual debut with an exclusive half-hour performance.
The virtual show, titled “Intermundium,” referring to the space between worlds, will showcase tracks composed, produced, and played by Carl himself.
Carl’s virtual performance will take place within Sensorium Galaxy, a metaverse platform known for its immersive high-quality events and experiences.
Specifically, Carl will make his debut in PRISM, a virtual hub within Sensorium Galaxy dedicated to electronic music. Here, both real-life and virtual DJs’ avatars deliver a continuous stream of musical entertainment.
The performance is scheduled for Friday, October 27, at 7 p.m. GMT, offering accessibility via mobile or laptop. For those seeking a more immersive experience, a VR-360 version of “Intermundium” will be available, made possible through a collaboration with PICO, a headset developed by ByteDance.
This isn’t the first time the metaverse has been used to spread music and bring music enthusiasts together.
Earlier in January, Warner Music Group hosted a metaverse party for the World’s Biggest Demo Drop DJ contest. In the same month, Calvin Harris announced a metaverse concert accessible via PICO VR headsets.
Other DJs, including Boris Brejcha and Burak Yeter, have also embraced the metaverse, launching music-themed NFTs as part of their foray into Web3.
