Calvin Harris, the renowned producer, songwriter and DJ, has unveiled his upcoming show; this time, fans will also be able to experience it in the metaverse.
At the premiere, scheduled for January 13 at 8pm GMT, fans will be able to join the live broadcast on TikTok LIVE, or in VR exclusively (for those in Asia and Europe) using PICO VR headsets.
The virtual experience—which will last approximately an hour—will feature Calvin Harris performing in an avatar vest and fans joining as avatars as well. As part of the show, VR attendees will also be able to add personalized and dynamic music elements to their VR experience.
Users can join the virtual experience by downloading the PICO Video app and selecting The Calvin Harris Experience from the PICO Video feed at the time of the event.
On January 17, a rebroadcast will be held for Asia Pacific at 8pm JST, which will include both the VR experience and TikTok LIVE.
This is not the first time a DJ has decided to join Web3 and perform in the metaverse; David Guetta and Paris Hilton entered the metaverse last year with a virtual DJ party on Roblox. Likewise, German DJ Boris Brejcha and Turkish DJ Burak Yeter launched their first NFT initiatives.
