Fashion powerhouse Ralph Lauren has taken a significant stride into the metaverse, revealing its latest venture — a new island named “Race to Greatness” within the popular virtual world of Fortnite.
Developed in collaboration with the creative minds at Beyond Creative, the island promises an immersive blend of fashion, gaming, and exploration.
Designed using Unreal Editor, “Race to Greatness” serves as an homage to Ralph Lauren’s iconic runway shows and intellectual properties.
Visitors to the virtual island will find themselves enveloped in a visually stunning environment that encapsulates the brand’s unique style.
The centerpiece within this digital experience is the foot sculpture bearing the Ralph Lauren emblem, located at the heart of the virtual space called “P-Wing Building.”
The island isn’t solely about aesthetics; it offers engaging gameplay as users will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of mini-games.
In tandem with the gaming elements, Ralph Lauren also introduces a “phygital” item initiative involving the Polo P-Wing Boot. The boots will be available both virtually and physically. The physical version will be priced at $250, with only 200 units set for production.
Ralph Lauren’s voyage into the metaverse began in 2021, marked by its debut on the Roblox metaverse. Since then, the brand has steadily expanded its digital footprint, culminating in last year’s collaboration with Fortnite. The partnership resulted in a redesigned logo for the Ralph Lauren brand and the release of a distinctive physical and digital collection.
