KEY POINTS
Reebok has accelerated its collaboration with metaverse company Futureverse, introducing AI-driven custom digital sneakers that integrate with various metaverse platforms.
Dubbed “Reebok Impact,” this initiative allows users to send a photo of their choice to Reebok’s Reebok Impact Instagram profile via DM. Futureverse’s AI then incorporates the image into the sole of a digital sneaker.
Users can then personalize the creation, editing the style, AI-generated art, placement, and color. They also have the option to select from different shoe models such as Reebok Pump, Classic Leather, or Club C.
The experience allows users to create up to four designs for free. They can share their creations or buy and convert them into game-ready files compatible with platforms like Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Roblox.
Soon, these digital sneakers will also be interoperable with other metaverse environments, including the upcoming game OPEN, developed by Ready Player One.
“Reebok Impact” represents the inaugural outcome of the Reebok-Futureverse collaboration, established in December with the goals of reshaping fashion in the digital realm and redefining how consumers perceive digital fashion through AI, Web3, gaming, and metaverse technologies.
The fashion industry is witnessing a profound transformation propelled by advancing technologies and the burgeoning influence of AI, evident in many initiatives by major corporations and notable figures across art, music, and sports. For instance, singer Audrey Nuna recently embraced digital fashion for her new single cover art in collaboration with designers Sunw and SYKY.
Forecasts indicate sustained growth in this trend. Allied Analytics projects the global digital fashion market to reach $4.8 billion by 2031, a significant increase from the $498.7 million recorded in 2021.
