The PGA Tour, the premier professional golf tour for men in the United States and North America, and Autograph, the Web3 brand co-founded by Tom Brady, have announced the launch of an NFT platform.
The platform will enable golf fans to own a piece of history by acquiring digital collectibles featuring the world’s best PGA Tour golfers as well as some of their favorite moments from the archives and the current FedExCup Season.
NFT holders will then have the opportunity to earn prizes with a variety of value, such as access to unique digital, in-person, and onsite experiences, as well as other program benefits.
The platform, which is expected to debut in early 2023, would be an excellent chance to take advantage of emerging technology while bringing fans closer to the game and their favorite players.
This appears to be the main usefulness of NFTs: providing people with the ability to feel a part of a community and experience the game in a new, more immersive way.
